COMING VERY SOON: CONSULTATIVE BALLOT ON PAY - AND WHY IT'S IMPORTANT TO REJECT THE OFFER!

Within the next 24 - 48 hours members will receive information on how they can vote in the 2018 pay ballot and detailed information - much of it shared here and on the blog already - on why it is recommended that the 3% offer is rejected.
Remember, we asked for 6.5% in order to redress the losses members have incurred since 2010/11 and in the last few days, colleagues at Dundee City UNISON have developed a calculator which shows just how worse off in real terms we've become. Here's a few examples:
If you're on the top spinal point of LG3.......approximately £3450 worse off........top of LG4? £3600 worse off! Top of LG6.....£4400 less! Top of LG8....approx £5700 less and top of LG10? £5290 worse off!
Quite clearly, our pay has suffered significantly in last 8 years. Suffice to say, we want a decent pay rise for every one of our members; one that actually makes a difference to our standards of living and one that reflects the extra work and effort we all put in to continue providing excellent services against a backdrop of massive cuts to local government expenditure on the vital services we all deliver.
It's therefore important and essential that we vote to reject the 3% offer and send a strong message back to the Scottish Government.
Watch this space......
