Local Government Pay

6th June 2014

The consultative ballot on pay will commence next week.

UNISON Scotland members  working in Local Government are being balloted to ascertain their opinion of the rejection by employers  our 2014 pay  claim ( £1 hr and a consolidation of the Living Wage). Employers consider pay settled until Apr 2015. They hold this view because UNISON members accepted, in good faith a 1% rise in 2013 – employers decided to impose that for 2013 & 2014.  The ballot will run from 9 June – 7 July. It will be a postal ballot to members home addresses. If a majority are in favour,  this consultative ballot will be followed by a further ballot on taking industrial action. Local Government workers deliver essential services that everyone uses and many of us rely on.  They deserve decent wages – They are Worth It
