Proposed Council Job Losses

UNISON Angus are seriously concerned about the proposed loss of 800 members of staff – people that deliver vital council services in our local authority area. Our role is to protect jobs and services and having seen 500 full time posts disappear in recent years, our members are already feeling the effect with regard to increased workloads, stress and worry.
Many vital council services will undoubtedly cease in the near future, but without the finer details of the Council’s plans at present, it’s difficult to make any further detailed comment for the time being. Needless to say, as the information emerges from the authority in the coming days and weeks ahead, UNISON Angus will be working hard to protect our members jobs and the vital services they provide to our communities, especially to the poor, elderly and vulnerable.
