The Annual Meeting of the SJC takes place this Friday 14th
November.
It would be normal at this meeting to submit the trade union side pay
claim for 2015/16 following branch consultation.
The Local Government Chairs meeting
yesterday considered this and were of the view that given our pay claim for
this year of £1 per hour was not considered by the employers, that it was still
relevant and should form the basis of next years claim in order that we can seek
early negotiations.
No redundancy, job security, a shorter timetable for
deletion of Spinal Column Points below the Living Wage should also feature in any claim.
Both GMB and Unite
would also be in agreement with such a claim.
If branches are in agreement with
this course of action, the claim will be written up taking on board these
points, agreed with the other two trade unions, circulated to branches and lodged
on Friday.
